Peerless and Novell Sign Agreement for Distribution of NEST Office Software to Imaging Customers Peerless Will Add NEST Office to ImageWorks to Provide One of the Industry's Most Complete Networking SDKs EL SEGUNDO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 18, 1999-- Peerless Systems Corporation (NASDAQ:PRLS - news) today announced a unique distribution agreement with Novell, Inc. to license and support the NEST (Novell Embedded Systems Technology) Office Software Developers Kit (SDK). With this agreement, Peerless will provide a source code SDK to manufacturers of printers, digital copiers and other imaging devices to embed networking software into their products and enable those products to become shared and remotely managed devices on Novell networks. Peerless Systems Networking co-developed the NEST Office 1.0 SDK in 1997 with the intention of making networked embedded imaging appliances an easy task. Under the new agreement, Peerless has broadened its ImageWorks solution set to encompass all necessary embedded imaging and networking software across Novell, Windows, UNIX or Macintosh environments, making ImageWorks one of the world's most comprehensive embedded imaging solution sets available from one supplier today.
