You are confusing chipset makers for OEMs.

When people talk about AMD in 9 out of the top 10 OEMs' systems, they mean Compaq, IBM, Gateway, and so on use AMD processors. So in this case, OEM is the PC maker.

The chipset makers sell their chipsets to motherboard makers who sell their motherboards to OEMs. Unless you are Intel because they make the whole package.
