ZRAN? I'm REALLY starting to believe in inefficient markets. Anyone here know the new market cap of ZRAN? (I'm guessing $300 million).

VCD a flop in India?...

LG Electronics closing down VCD player production?

INDIA — LG Electronics India Ltd revealed plans of phasing out its VCD player line in response to reports that consumers are not satisfied with the products' quality.

According to Rajeev Karwal, vice president for marketing and sales, the quality problem is largely due to the software available, which "we have no control over."

Even when the player is top-quality, Karwal says there will still be viewing problems if the discs are inferior: "We cannot risk jeopardizing the reputation of LG products," he said.

The company is now looking into MP3, despite earlier announcements that it will not enter the audio market, and assessing whether to import MP3 players or manufacture them locally.
