Teflon, MSFT is going to fly!!!!
I am going to load up on more MSFT if there is a down or flat opening tomorrow.
This whole instant messaging has done one thing----prove that there is a competitive internet environment. Is that not the reason for the DOJ/States case against Microsoft?

I realize that some believe (like RTev) that evidence can't be entered into the case anymore. However, the political pressure is building up against the government. Each bout of the Messaging war with AOL is telling the DOJ something that no legal defense by MSFT could have. Therefore, the probability of a settlement has just gone up in a big way!!

IMHO, this case is about to settle. All the signs are there. The DOJ/States are going to reduce their demands because they don't want to be perceived as anti-business as the signs of tough competition are very apparent. Their demands are going to get watered down a lot.
If there is no settlement, no big deal because the courtroom fighting stage is over. I still feel the politicians want to declare victory without a verdict. As i stated before, if they don't settle, we will see some states dropping out --- which will help MSFT stock anyways. Imagine the rally in the stock if even one states drops out citing that there is a competitive environment. MSFT must have gotten to at least one State AG (indirectly).
Now the best time to buy MSFT.

BTW--AOL's defiance is also going to help @Home and AT&T. They will owe a lot to Microsoft (IM war) for their help in showing to politicians that AOL is not a victim of cable internet. It is just a bully that does not need government assistance.
I actually bought some AOL today.
