Microsoft releasing their micro codes in order to force AOL to do the same can only be compared to Volkswagon releasing the plans to their Beetle, in the hopes of having Rolls Royce do the same! Don't give in Mr. Case...MSFT only wants to STEAL your customers away!!!

When Gate wishes to publish the MSN Messenger protocol, does that mean he still reserves the right to keep undocumented codes proprietary, just like DOS and Windows?

Also, doesn't 'MSN Messenger' sound so much like 'AOL Instant Messenger'? It is interesting that Microsoft cannot think of a better name. At least, Yahoo one is called something Pager which has not gone anywhere in the past year or two.
