A whole bunch of Quantum employees walk into the layoff buzzsaw in about two hours. Whole departments, managers doing the dirty work to everybody they oversee, and then getting the ax themselves, the whole ugly script.

Despite Salomon Smith Barney's very timely inventory-clearing "init with Buy" rating two days ago, Quantum is fighting for its life.
