chris, NetApp always warns of decreasing GM. It is simply because as the disk drive content goes up, the margins go down. Disk drives are commodities with thin margins.

I am amazed that with the 1TB systems that they are shipping now, the gm hasn't slipped much, much more.

That is one reason the Dell-like relationship(s) are important. NTAP does not sell drives to Dell, just high margin software and motherboards.
