Eric, ML has no price target that I know of on PCLN. I just put in the price of PCLN at the time Blodget initiated coverage. I figured that any price target would be higher than that.

By the way - is the practice of setting price targets a relatively new thing?

Eric, think about it's targeted audience..This is called sound-bite analysis so the most and the least would all understand!

You got to catch people's attention!

By the way - is the practice of setting price targets a relatively new thing? It just seems like an odd thing to do - it
would appear that a revenue or profit target would be more sensible in trying to predict future company performance.
But in setting price targets, analysts are really doing nothing more than trying to predict investor sentiment. And that
makes me wonder what exactly these "analysts" are analyzing?

Eric,

I believe Blodget is analyzing momentum only and not fundamentals. He recently made some not too flattering comments about AMZN but then issues a buy???
