My point was, the chart I posted compares a Nikkei-tracking index fund to the Nikkei itself. The difference is due to the exchange rate. The two charts you posted aren't as directly comparable to the Nikkei. If you believe the Nikkei is the definitive measure of the Japanese market, then my chart shows it's still making new highs in dollar terms. (Okay it would be better to just multiply the Nikkei by the exchange rate instead of showing the index fund, but I don't know how to do that. I don't know what ADR stands for either - adjusted dollar r??????)
