this uncanny similarity has been pointed out by so many commentators by now that a repeat performance of last year going forward seems very unlikely. also last year's bogeyman was deflation rather than inflation, as the global credit bubble suffered it's first serious setback. right now inflation is the worry du jour, which is a lot less harmful, as the Fed is being perceived as being able to deal with it. however, today's strong bond market combined with a weak stock market once again was strangely reminiscent of last year.
