x, this really doesn't look like much of a sell off, ended in the middle of the range today down <2%
watch it tomorrow, if dollar weakness puts pressure on futures could be worth the ride down, maybe
i'm knitting waiting for RHAT+PHCM breakdown so will not be on too much tomorrow, except for watching direction now and then
good luck
ynot ;)

>>>>>BRCD- Lockup ended early (today!) How nice. Any thoughts now?

X, the way I read this:

""""MWD has agreed to an early release of the underwriters' lock-up restrictions on up to 2.3 million shares; stock to be available for sale no earlier than Wednesday, August 18"""""""

Today was the "1st day" that MWD could start selling from its 2.3M shrs. locked-up inventory. This distribution has just started, not ended.

In the case of fast-growing companies like CIEN, RBAK, JNPR, or BRCD, these brokers schedule in an early lock-up right after a blow-out earnings report since they have no clue if company's product momentum is sustainable for another quarter. By pushing the stock to a new 52-wk high around the report time, they try to create maximum interest in the deal by catching attention of retail investors as well as fund managers who look for liquidity. They then pull the stock back from its "inflated transitory" 52-wk high to create further interest in a bargain-hunting fashion. These stocks could move up & down by 10-15% before it is all over. They eventually pull the stock to where blocks have indicated interest. That would be the low(within ~2%) and the day when you see volume surging by 3X or higher.

I could be wrong but I think BRCD would drop to 145-150 before this game is all over. That's where I am planning to get in.

>>>p.s. Just got in, what caused the late selloff?

I didn't do it! I was in a class all afternoon. While some people are writing off MSFT in favor of Linux, we keep pushing deeper into MSFT office tools.
