Imperfections that are slowly destroying this country while many Americans sit complacent, content to see their rights squandered by power mad politicians. As long as these ostriches are allowed to remain titillated with shiny SUVs, bread and circuses, and empty promises, they would be willing to vote in a dictatorship. That the USA is still considered the best country in the world is only because so many other countries have even worse governments. This will not always be the case and the momentum of our past cannot indefinitely carry us forward into a better future. If trends that have developed during the past 100 years are not halted and reversed the U.S. will not retain its leadership during the 21st Century and indeed will become eclipsed by future events such as the conversion of China to capitalism or the formation of a United States of Africa.
