Richard / SYO I'm afraid I'm not familiar with the coal bed methane play, although Elk Valley would certainly be a promising area for it. The contact who keeps me in touch with the company has never mentioned it. I would assume that is because of the capital required -- SYO has the capacity on hand to drill some $500k wells, but not the muscle for what you describe. They would have to have a partner, but the partner would have to have both deep pockets and imagination. At this point in the cycle, there doesn't seem to be a lot of imagination around town.
