DJ Ericsson Starts Selling New T28 Handset In Sweden Next Wk

With thanks to ToHellWith.... on the Yahoo! thread:

STOCKHOLM (Dow Jones)--Swedish telecommunications company Telefon AB LM Ericsson (ERICY) will start selling its new advanced T28 light-weight dual band handset and its new handheld computer based on the wireless application protocol in Sweden next week, the company said
Thursday.

Both products were first announced in the first quarter, the company said.

Selling of the products in other countries will begin around the same time as far at it is possible, the head of marketing at Ericsson Mobile Communications Jan Ahrenbring told Dow Jones.

The handheld computer, called MC218, incorporates the EPOC operative system which has been developed by Symbian Ltd., a company jointly owned by Ericsson, Oy Nokia (NOK), Motorola Inc. (MOT), Matsushita Communication Industrial Co. (J.MCI) and Psion PLC (U.PON). The
computer is made to work together with Ericsson's mobile phones to provide a complete communication solution.

Weighing only 83 grams the T28 is the smallest mobile phone developed by Ericsson so far. It incorporates all the features of previous models including voice control, but also has a new menu handling system and a more power efficient battery technology.
