Paul Re <<Those two articles say EXACTLY THE OPPOSITE from each other !>>

Monday's article was an official press release form HP, todays was from a staff reporter qaoting a HP employee. Logic would have you believe the first one.

Paul and all, regarding HP's statement to skip Merced and wait for McKinley:

I'm confused as well as anyone else. If HP really wants McKinley to do well in the far future, they better hope that Merced also does well in order to lay down the foundation. Telling people to skip Merced and wait for McKinley is pretty self-defeating advice, don't you think?

After all, how does that guy from HP expect the software base to be established for McKinley? Won't Merced's success drive software development efforts? This is vital so that when McKinley arrives, not only will McKinley's performance skyrocket above the competition, it will also have a critical mass of software support.

I think someone, either from Intel or HP, ought to straighten out those within HP who are suggesting that Merced be skipped.
