As I said, I am not well versed in matters ecological, but I would suggest that the distinction between what is "natural" and "unnatural" could be made in terms of the ecological balance.

Tool-making and tool-using is not the issue, I would say. The otter using a rock to break open oysters is not upsetting the ecological balance. Now, if Man were to grub up all the oysters with some big boats equipped with all sorts of gizmos, the sea otters might all die off, too, and that WOULD upset the ecological balance. No more oysters, no more otters. Edit: Not to speak of other unforeseen consequences.

And don't forget that Man likes to talk about Controlling Nature. That means placing yourself OUTSIDE of Nature, as Lord and Master. Pride goeth before a fall...

Man is much brainier than other creatures, and that gives him the power to destroy much more, as well as to create much more. One hopes that he will exercise restraint & common sense in this regard.
