>A Passing Remark About priceline.com Raises Serious Concerns

Doesnt surprise me a bit. People will end up in jail once this whole fiasco is over. I'm not talking about priceline in particular, because I dont know the details. But double counting could be serious enough to wreck their stock in a heartbeat. Would it surprise you to know that web companies who do "ad banner swaps" can pick whatever price they wish to assign to the transaction, and count it as revenue, even though no money has exchanged hands?

How much accounting "creativity" will the internut firms get away with before the first trading halt occurs, ala BRE-X?

Who knows..

Yeah I saw that about priceline. I don't miss the Rukeyser show, I like that one. But anyway I gave up on priceline last week and not sure if I will re-enter soon. You can't get shares to short, and given all this negative sentiment the price is staying high... I am not a big one for manipulation theories but priceline seems to trade on something other than reality... could be a short squeeze soon... I usually try to avoid these really obvious shorts for that reason. (ebay was another one when they were having all their problems)I made money twice on pcln puts and lost once.
