Brocade was never a member of the Fibre Alliance.
The inclusion of McData in that list should also be a clue as to the article's accuracy.
Pure invention

OSFI has nothing to do with the Fibre Alliance. While that article gives a pretty good description of the Fibre Alliance vs. SNIA issues, as well as what each group is trying to accomplish (FA being forwarded by EMC, for the purposes of standardizing a FC management MIB), it badly errs (it seems like a simple mistake) when describing the OSFI as a defection from the FA.

As you state, Brocade has never been a member of the FA, and as someone else states, McData would probably not dream of doing something so provocative to EMC. OSFI exists simply to accelerate the ANSI proposal for a switch to switch routing standard. The proposal is entitled FC-SW2. (The idea would be any switch which supported the standard would be able to be connected to one another regardless of the manufacturer)
