I just called my Idaho Waterhouse broker and at first they didn't even think that the QQQ and SPY traded past 4. They called and claim according to the exchange, that they do in fact trade just like a normal stock thus trading halts at around 4:00 for us mortals and only the big boys that trade after hours can trade past that, just the same as MSFT or DELL etc.
