DELL has programs in place to get some consumer share but so far those programs have not really gotten traction, ...

I don't see how you can come up with a statement like that. From what I know, they declare more then 100% growth in the consumer segment and 78% growth in the combined consumer and small businesses segment.

Good new, Bad news
This is response to Dell stealing CPQ's market share in govt. accounts, other institutional markets, etc. I work for the CA State Legislature. First the bad news:

The legislature is in the process of replacing all of their computers (has to be in the thousands) with Dell computers.

The good news:

They are replacing HWP, not stealing from CPQ.

I also notice that CPQ is advertising for a sales manager in Sacramento, the seat of CA state government. Let's hope Michael Capellas hires a go-getter for that position (if its no too late already).
