Martin Armstrong is a frequent interviewee on KMNY radio and KWHY TV here in the L.A. area.

I enjoy listening to him, but other than calling the July 20, 1998, market top, he hasn't been accurate on anything that I've heard him say.

For example, after the big market downdraft last fall, he flatly said that the Dow would not make new highs. "Forget it" were his exact words. He also said that the Japanese yen would go to 200/US$, that when the yen was 140 or so.

I'd be very broke if I had acted on his advice.

No, it does not mean what you think at all.
It jsut means the first 3 tries I could not get the sound to hook up, & I don't agree with him on some things.

Hutch, sorry in advance if my inquiry here is a dumb one.

About a week ago Bobby posted a link to a radio interview with a man
of name Marty Armstrong and two others listed on that link.

You reply to Bobby was as follows.

<<Hutch (Aug 19) Bobby, That is the most important post on SI, after
24 hours NO ONE replied to it. Which to me means that they never took
the time to listen. I for one, have found it VERY enlightening.>>

Recorded Interviews
   Hal Ludwig   August 26,1999
   Marty Armstrong August 16, 1999 Part 1
   Marty Armstrong August 16, 1999 Part 2
   Marty Armstrong Ausust 16, 1999 Part 3
   Jim Smith August 24,1999

Is the Marty Armstrong mentioned above the same as the one in the
following excerpt from a Bill Murphy GATA e-mail I received today ?

<<This is very important to know. It has come to my attention that just four hedge funds are short up to 50 million ounces of gold. That is around 1500 tonnes. According to my sources the four culprits are the Soros operation, Tiger, Martin Armstrong and Moore Capital. What do you think the price of gold will do when they try and cover?>>

If so, then seems that he would wish GATA to be incorrect.

thanks
