RH Re: hotels - sorry cant help. never stayed in one. Indians typically have and live with relatives everywhere they go. I do know 5-satrs a couple of years back were around Rs. 8000 per night ($200 approx). If you are in Bombay you could stay in hotels behind Taj Mahal for around $25 per night. Meals are cheap if u stay away from 5-star hotels (48% sales tax. I think its waived if you pay in $$). cost in average good restaurant $10 for a VERY GOOD buffet lunch and lower from there. Re: transportation. In cities take the bus, train or cab. murder but great experience. In the villages bike will work. get a motorized bike for around $50-$100 new. All towns and cities have good
