Saying that a lower US dollar will correct the trade deficit and boost US exports is like saying that since we're poorer we'll have to spend less and work harder.

I'm not saying that a weaker U.S. dollar will correct the trade deficit, but it should improve it as our products become cheaper overseas and here in comparison to foreign goods... This should also be good for our labor markets as domestic businesses may reconsider heretofore possible layoffs...
