Mmmm, I would probably retire to the US too, if my Canadian dollar was worth 1.47 U.S!

As it now stands, the Canadian snowbirds can only afford a couple of months in the winter vacationing in a US hotspot.

Not being an expert on foreign currency, I wonder what factors or persons are involved in deciding how much our dollar is worth compared to the U.S dollar?

Yes, I probably did miss your other generalizations about Canada, as I don't normally read this thread and just stumbled across your statement purely by accident.
