Ron : Don't look my way for a discussion on Frank Veneroso or the gold conspiracy as I know nothing about either. But I am sure the forum abounds in many experts on both.

I am surprised that GoldFields suggests the total carry position is only 400 tonnes because they were one of those who apparently supported the conspiracy theory and therefore, presumably, the idea of a massive short position.

Meanwhile, POG has fallen back to $258 so I am sure you are slapping yourself on the back for being so prophetic.
