Does ''size'' really matter ?

... marketcap - that is (VBG). - that oughta get some of our female posters back... :)

<< I'd like to buy larger E&P's (market cap wise), but I don't feel I can get nearly the same appreciation potential in the next 3-6 months.>>

.. JimL - I totally agree - the risk/reward basis is so in favor of the smaller caps - that I can NOT justify not being here allmost exclusively.

The large caps allways move first - BR NBL APA TLM DVN - then the institutions move into the 2nd tier - UPR OEI perhaps XTO et al... the micro's - are where the upside remains. The risk was 6 months ago - when we had no idea nat gas would go to $2.70+ or that Oil would sustain @ $20+ ... The risk is much, much, much less than what it was - some of these companies like MEXP are not that debt laden at all... and are in relatively moderate - to even low risk nat gas plays - RRC is certainly not doing any high risk - one shot/live, or die drilling.... I like OEI the best of the more conservative plays - maybe MRO as well in a big cap name; but folks - we got doubles left in micro land - and there are going to have to drag me kicking & clawing out of E&P small caps before I leave & come back to the driller & service stocks... just my .02.

PS - gotta go;

BULL - good E&P basket & those are realistic 90 day targets - I'll put a case of good Beer/ or a Lobstergram - that 60% of that list hits (at least momentarially - you choose when to sell) those price targets by Dec 1... any takers (VBG) ?
