I would have to agree with you 100%. RE<< "Last month, we had downgrades due to the reduced overall market volume in June-July. This clearly runs contrary to TD WAterhouse's earnings release. It seems to me that individuals are taking control of their investments in larger numbers">>

This industry is set to continue to grow as more investors start to do their own investing. Younger generations coming into the investing world in the future should provide a steady growth. Notice in each of the down grades they say one word that stood out in my mind about the trading vol. {seasonally light vol..} Good luck.

Online broker, Ameritrade Holding (AMTD 21 5/8 -2 3/16), continued to slide, after receiving a Pacific Crest Securities downgrade from "strong buy" to "buy..." Firm concerned that seasonally light trading volumes will hurt 4Q99 revenues and notes that new customer growth is weak... E*TRADE (EGRP 25 7/16 -2 5/8) and Knight/Trimark Group (NITE 30 9/16 -3) also continued to give back some of recent gains.
