Up a whole 1/4. It must be our lucky day!

After crushing consensus earnings estimates, and giving guidance for a fourth quarter that will set all-time revenues and bookings records, we're now only down $15 per share from last week's price.

In the last quarter, AMAT scrubbed some $49mm worth of backlog.

Voila! That's the missing $50M in my numbers posted previously. Yes, I know about phantom backlog...salesmen have been known to enter fake orders in the last month of their fiscal year in order to achieve annual quota...only to have them backed out the next month. Of course they got fired for doing that if they were caught! (BTW I'm not talking about AMAT here.) Thanks for your comment and for solving the mystery.

Ian, yes it is to AMAT's credit that they can ship quickly...that should give them a competitive advantage over others with longer delivery schedules. Hopefully this will help them take some more share from competitors (but not too much since I hold NVLS too!)
