I wonder what would happen if George Bush was asked about illegal drug use under oath. Wouldn't that be interesting... and you know, it could have happened had they not removed the IC. There could have been some inquiry on the funeral home or some unrelated event and using the ethics of Ken Starr they could have brought up illegal drug use. I haven't really thought about that until this moment but had the IC been allowed to continue there was at least a chance of that... scary... and cocaine use is a crime either way so that certainly would have been impeachable. What a mess.

bobp- re:lying under oath to the american people...

Hi bobp,

Thank you for responding to my post.

First let me agree with you... Clinton did lye under oath to the American people. I don't deny that.

However, I cannot produce a name or date, but I can wander through my memory and all the talking heads and politicians during that period of time and I recall the words "soiled the office of the presidency" among others and the distinct impression that a moral angle was indeed being politically leveraged by his detractors.

This was shown to be as fact when then to be Speaker of the House (I think that was the position) Livingston resigned, not for lying, but for adultery... a moral crime to many. Livingston must have been sensing the same thing I was, namely the moral issue of adultery was thick and heavy on the surface. He was going to get outed by Flynt and did not want to soil the office he was about to occupy.... nothing about lying.

Just my opinion.

Jon :)
