LOL!

You know I can't understand Datek. I think they have the best online service for tracking investments real time. I love their instant updates of portfolios, buying power, etc., but they seem to do some stupid things that don't make sense. For instance, I recently transferred about $86,000 from one of my IRA's to do some trading in mutual funds. When I later learned of a particular fund that I would think Datek (a trader's broker) should provide, that is Profunds, they don't. Jeesh, so I transferred the money back to Fidelity where I can trade UOPIX, etc.

Also, they don't allow shorting the indexes that other brokers allow such as QQQ, XLK, etc. Jeesh, I'm thinking about transferring my taxable account to E-Trade or somewhere else so I can short the indexes if I want to. Again, wouldn't one think an online broker that caters to daytraders/investors would allow that?

I wish some of the other brokers provided the portfolio and cash availability data instantly. Perhaps some do. I need to open some trial accounts elsewhere I suppose.

Happy Trading,

HiTech
