OT Re - But one should also be wary and sceptical of all of this (Y2K)

Hi DD,

Now as a fellow good Canadian (aka citizen of a nation of boring compromise) you surely know that you have to add the worst case to the best case scenario and divide by two ... unfortunately, the end result is still pretty ugly.

During the great ice storm I was lied to by Ontario Hydro for 7 of the 8 days we were without power and they are not even politicians. I probably spend about an hour a day reading the Y2K threads and I see a lot of professional lying, much of it for legal reasons, as well as many politicians passing the buck.

IMHO, one should potect one's family until they sleep well, as much or as little as that takes.

:-))

John

Anyone see Moneyline on CNN tonight? The Bank of New york is under investigation for laundering of Russian Mafia money. A journalist investigating the Mob Boss got on to do the interview, looks like he is sweating for his life. He suggested that the Russian Mob is so huge that we are only seeing the tip of the iceberg. Wonder how much of the "squeaky clean" banks have been running their Maytags for the Vodka Vultures? Great news item to add to the Y2K stories starting to hit the airwaves!
