Not true..... that the North Shore of Kauai is always rainy. I lived on Kauai all my life and have grown up on both the North & the East Shores. People that push the south side of the island or so nick name Sunny Poipu are trying to sell you on the Condo/time share deals that all the resorts push on you when you get get off the plane. Poipu or south/west part of Kauai does seem to be more sunny which is why it's not so tropical. Any greenery is man made by the resorts. Kauai is rainy during the winter season and dry during the summer. No matter what part of the island you stay on if it's raining you can always find sun and if it sunny you can find rain. That's typical tropical weather on all the Hawaiian islands. Most motion pictures where filmed on the North shore of Kauai due to is unsurpassed beauty.
