<8/19/99 - ARCHITEL ELABORATES ON EXPANDED LICENSE AGREEMENT WITH CABLE & WIRELESS USA

TORONTO, Aug 19, 1999 /CNW-PRN via COMTEX/ -- Architel Systems Corporation (NASDAQ:ASYCF ; TSE: ASY), a leading provider of operations support systems (OSS's) to the global telecommunications market, today announced further details on its recent announcement (July 27, 1999) that Cable & Wireless USA, Inc. (''Cable & Wireless USA'') has expanded its software license agreement to include the complete suite of Architel provisioning products. These licenses for the ASAP, OMS and InterGate products, in addition to Objectel, previously licensed, will be used for Cable & Wireless USA's Data, IP and Long Distance service offerings in the United States. As the service fulfillment solution for Cable & Wireless USA, Architel's integrated suite of products will coordinate tasks in the service delivery process, manage network inventory, configure network elements and interconnect with trading partners. Architel will receive revenues from this transaction comprised of license fees and on-going support fees. Additionally, Architel will receive fees for professional services to Andersen Consulting, the prime contractor for overall solution delivery.
