<<We already have more revenue lined up than Freeserve generated in its first year," AOL Europe Chief Executive Andreas Schmidt told Reuters in an interview.

Thats what happens when your a 1200lb gorilla <<ggg>>.

I doubt they did too much " cold calling " to line up the ad dollars. With the clout the brand name already carries, I am sure the advertisers werelining up at the door.

Roy: FREE INTERNET IN THE UK AND EUROPE. Maybe that crowd over there will patronize the home town boys. When there's talk about free Internet in the UK, all you hear is the giant AOL-UK and FreeServe. X-stream Network in 3rd position is rarely mentioned but it was x-stream (XSNI-Nasdaq) out of the UK that first introduced the world to free Internet. Not FreeServe! X-stream was the true Robin Hood of free Internet in the UK. They took from the rich (AOL) and gave to the poor. These companies all thrive on advertising and once the world wakes up to the point that Internet advertising is superior to advertising on television, radio, magazines, newspapers, etc., advertising on the Internet will be the wave of the future. Keep in mind 'ADVERTISING ON THE INTERNET IS JUST 1 CLICK AWAY FROM A TRANSACTIION'.
