Charles Desjardins reports
Investment.com has signed an affiliate operating agreement with CompuBank
(compubank.com). Through the association with CompuBank, Investment.com
users and businesses in the United States will be able to open up bank accounts
and access their accounts, conduct bill payments, account transfers, retrieve check
images or statements, seven days a week, 24 hours a day. In addition,
Investment.com will provide CompuBank with investment-related content and
story headlines with links back to the Investment.com Web site.
Headquartered in Houston, Tex., CompuBank is the first virtual national bank to
receive a charter from the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) and
approval from the Federal Insurance Deposit Corporation (FDIC).
In June, 1999, CompuBank captured the number one overall ranking in
SmartMoney.com's on-line banking survey. According to SmartMoney.com
CompuBank received the overall number one ranking because of non-existent
fees, a smorgasbord of services and a cutting-edge Web site design. The survey
was based on the participation of 13 of the largest consumer banks, according to
deposits, and six Internet-only banks. The results focused on fees, security,
customer service, products and services and Web site information. CompuBank
offers a variety of depository products and services to both consumers and
businesses including: basic chequing, interest chequing, savings, money market
accounts, certificates of deposits, Visa cheque cards, direct deposit and transfers,
free wire services, on-line cheque reorder, free bill payment and free ATM
services.
