Corner Bay continuing drill results at Alamo Dorado

Tue 24 Aug 99 News Release
Mr. Peter Mordaunt reports
Peter Mordaunt, president of Corner Bay Minerals, is pleased with the results from the continuing drill program on the company?s Alamo Dorado, silver/gold property in Sonora, Mexico.
Infill reverse circulation drilling, which is the focus of the current program continues to exceed expectations Results from two additional infill sections (L-150S and L050N) continue to demonstrate a wider silver and gold system than was previously observed. All analysis have been conducted by Bondar Clegg de Mexico, S.A. de C.V. at Intertek Testing Services of Hermosillo, Mexico. The geological concept that the ultimate true width of precious metal mineralization was never determined in earlier drill programs is now a fact. Not only has this drill campaign confirmed the continuity of the deposit along strike, these drill results confirm a significantly larger deposit than was previously reported. This is evidenced by the comparison table below:
Average of Current Drill Results
Avg. Equiv.*2 Equiv.*2
Width Ag Au Ag Au
(m) (g/t) (g/t) (g/t) (g/t)

185 76 0.23 88 1.70
Included are drill holes AD-25, 29, 26, 27, 32, 33, 34 and 35. These are all up dip holes drilled as part of the infill program.
Average of Previous Drill Results

Width Ag Au Ag Au
(m) (g/t) (g/t) (g/t) (g/t)

105 80 0.25 93 1.79
Included are drill holes AD-01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, 07, 08, 09, and 10. These are all up dip holes drilled previously and correspond along strike to holes above.
Furthermore, the company is now in the process of re-entering the first 10 drill holes (AD-01 to AD-10) and extending their depths to coincide with the recently drilled infill holes. Once this is completed further drilling will occur down dip of drill holes released in the current program. All of this work will culminate in a new reserve and resource classification early this fall. The ore reserve work along with economic studies will once again be completed by established mining consultants, MINTEC Inc. of Tucson, Ariz.
In addition, Corner Bay has now tendered a diamond drilling contract, which will result in larger diameter drill holes (PQ core) being drilled in the deposit in preparation of the detailed metallurgical program. Metallurgical results to date have shown the Alamo Dorado ore has fast kinetics and is amenable to heap leaching. The work remaining, which is to be conducted by Metcon Research Inc., will determine the optimum crush size for maximum recoveries for heap leaching under commercial operating conditions. Other surface exploration on the property along strike to the south and east has identified a strong geochemical anomaly. The anomaly appears to be an extension of the deposit to the south and east. Using Mobile Metal Ion geochemistry (MMI) a well defined silver and gold anomaly has been traced along the slope of an adjacent ridge for 750 metres over an average width of 100 metres. The company feels this is an important discovery and will follow up on this area shortly with geological mapping and surface samples to determine the economic significance of this geochemical anomaly.
