Chuckles - Re: " What are your "much more realistic" expectations? And, what is the basis for those "realistic" numbers?"

Frankly -I don't have any expectations.

I just watch what is happening with the AThlon - and right now, I don't see much of anything happening.

And that's a real negative for AMD - due to Intel's product slippages over the past 3 months.

And that BAD part for AMD is that Intel is rapidly correcting their product slippages: The Profusion Chip Set is being launched, the Camino/Rambus is being launched within the next 45 days, and the word on the street is that Intel's CuLatermine may actually become CuSooner-rather-than-Latermine at very "interesting" clock speeds.

Clock speeds that will put a real Damper on all the AthLATE hoopla - especially when it is becoming more-and-more evident that the
real AthLATE is a year 2000 product - and NOT a 1999 product.

Re: "AMD shipouts have to be some number north of 600Ku because these things are built to plan (the plan being cross 1Mu mark in Q4)."

Built to plan? What if the yield is unpredictable? How do you plan then?
