JP, In the case of splitting aces, it depends on the count. If you have a ten rich shoe, you split those suckers.

On the second question, you don't make decisions on just one of your cards, as you are allowed to look at the other one, too. It is the dealer's hole card you can't look at. Well, you can, but then two guys named Vito and Carmine take you for a drive in the desert. And they don't offer your corpse a ride back. <g>

1. Say the dealer is showing a face card, and you have two aces? Do you split the aces?

If you don't count cards, yes.

2. The dealer up card is a 3, and yours is a 2? Do you hit? And vice versa, the dealer is showing 2 and you have 3, do you hit?

I don't quite understand this part. If you only have 2 or 3, of course hit. I assume your question is you have 12 or 13. Hit 12 but stand on 13 against dealer 2 or 3. Again assuming you are not counting cards.
