One completely unscientific way to monitor pokemon sales is by looking and talking to toy chain stores. Since I have 2 boys, I have been doing alot of informal talking to Toys R Us, Best Buy, Target about Pokemon. They all say Pokemon orders are not being fully filled and stores sell out quickly. At least in the Dallas area, sales of pokemon supplies for school caused significant headaches for Toys R Us. Some of the items that were advertised in the Sunday paper were sold out in a matter of 2 hours. The store was not issuing rainchecks since they were seasonal items and lets just say there were some upset kids and parents. (our kids made us go as soon as they opened so we got the all important lunchboxes and notebooks<g>). We also tried to get the pokemon shirts at Sears but they were sold out.

If Dallas is any indication, pokemon sales are great. We should see growth regardless but if the movie sparks more interest, we may have pokemon mania on our hands this Christmas season! Remember cabbage patch dolls? Guess who orchestrated that one???

Given the estimated earnings range in your calcs, most pertinent would be a Pokemon sales forecast.....$1 BB, $5 BB ??

I fired off a note with that request to Nintendo USA...I know, a longshot, but worth a try....
