VANCOUVER (CKNW/98) -- Starnet Communications of Vancouver, and the homes of six of its directors and officers, have been raided by the police. The offences being investigated include illegal betting and bookmaking, possession and distribution of pornographic material, and possession of proceeds of crime. Police say Starnet has been investigated for 18 months in regard to illegal gaming, and the distribution of porn over the Internet. Police say investigators have determined millions of dollars flowed through Starnet each month, from its Internet-based gaming system
