Men have their own tension along those lines. Hyper- feminine women are a turn- on, but no one wants to marry an idiot, least of all educated men, who are more likely to seek companionate marriages. I myself married a woman older than I because I needed someone more developed than the girls I typically dated in college. With any luck, one can shift gears for both functions, emphasizing certain characteristics for sex, and others for the relationship proper....
