Two new research pieces available, Haywood on ELH/GSJJV, and Newcrest on Berkley with some interesting comments on ELH.

Find it at: www.elandjennings.com/

Hi S&P

Your comments, and those of others, on the way the market has been behaving over the past week made me curious. Sometimes it is better to look at figures over a longer period so I spent some idle time over the weekend summarizing the past week's activity in the JV stocks.

Total number of shares traded: 26,126,000
Total number of trades (approx): 10,000
Total turnover :$221,400,000

Is this a record for a weeks trading?

The rise over the week across all the JV stocks on a weighted average basis was 7.7%. Best performer was PYR - up 18.6%.

Seems to me that we have a lot of nervousness out there yet, and we are probably going to see many ups and downs in the weeks and months ahead, not everyone has the confidence gained from reading all 4000+ posts on the thread, but as Greyhairs said last week, what matters in the end is the price you bought at and the price you sell at.

As Margaret Thatcher was fond of quoting, ultimately
"you can't buck the market" and whether they case or not this week will have little effect in the LONG term. If our baby is as big as we hope it might be then the market has only one way to go.

As for this week, as Corporal Jones used to say in Dad's Army "DONT PANIC - DONT PANIC"

Just a few thoughts for Monday morning.

Have a good week.

Fred

can we presume that they are still setting casing.
Wish we knew if drilling is going to continue.

Cheers
