X,

Lately, I've been shopping on Ebay (persian rugs) and was wondering if you felt the bidding system was typically legit, or if it is regularly manipulated by sellers who place bids under assumed names.

The auction for the last rug I purchased was dead for a couple of days prior to its expiration, then in the last couple of hours I saw a 40% increase in my purchase price. It seemed a little fishy...but then again I've heard of last minute flurries.
