Surely, as a recovering substanceholic, he should have compassion for those who get hooked one way or another--and, you're right, it's often out of despair. Of course, substance abusers get arrested in places they are vulnerable, and slapped behind bars. Rich boys like Georgie don't get the same laws applied to them because they get to snort in limousines with darkened windows.
