Actually, I failed to ask. We just met at this outdoors bar down in Georgetown. He and his friend, (both around 25-30) had forgotten to bring their passports for ID purposes and the bartender wouldn't serve them, so I bought them a couple of drinks and we spent most of our time discussing Scuba Diving (he had tried to present his PADI card as ID... :0) But he was in the paper manufacturing business and was quite certain that they would have not problems (and he wasn't just being a polly.. :0) As an aside, I'm in my 30's and they even card me. It seems the DC police are running sting operations trying to catch bartenders serving minors. As of a week ago, it was reported they had caught 54 bartenders, fining each of them $1,500 a pop (that's a lot of tips) and creating a fascinating new source of income for the DC spendthrifts.
