News Item (08-20-99): "Cowen Raises Target >RIMM...

SG Cowen analyst Rob Stone raised his target on Research in Motion Ltd. (RIMM) on Friday to US$37-US$41 from US$24-US$25 and
reiterated his "strong buy" rating.
In a research note, Stone said Research in Motion may be able to sign up other international deals. He explains that Telcel in Venezuela uses
the Mobitex network. Other public Mobitex networks around the world include ones in Belgium, Finland, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden,
Turkey, the U.K., Indonesia, Korea, Singapore, Chile and Australia, he wrote. There are private networks in Austria,
France, Germany, Italy, Poland and Sweden as well.
Stone also said more Internet service providers will be pushed to sign up Research in Motion service for their customers or risk losing
customers to competitors that do have the pagers.
