These IPOs never end:

"Alteon Websystems seeks to raise $55.2 mln in IPO
WASHINGTON, Aug 20 (Reuters) - Alteon Websystems Inc., a
firm that works to improve the efficiency and performance of
Internet servers to faciliate sales on the web, filed to raise
as much as $55.2 million in an initial public offering.
The San Jose, Calif.-based company proposed to sell three
million shares of common stock in a projected range of $14-$16
per share, according to a filing with the Securities and
Exchange Commission.
Compaq Computer Corp. <CPQ.N> and Yahoo! Inc. <YHOO.O> are
a couple of the companies that use the company's technology to
manage their Web site traffic, yet Alteon posted $12.5 million
in net losses in the year ending June 30.
While the company's filing with the SEC did not disclose
when it planned to begin selling its shares, Alteon has applied
to be listed on Nasdaq under the symbol <ATON.O>.
The $55.2 million figure it cited in the filing was merely
a basis for calculating the SEC registration fee, the company
said.
Alteon said it plans to use the funds to expand sales and
marketing, product development, and potential acquisitions, the
filing said.
The lead managers for the IPO are Lehman Brothers,
BancBoston Robertson Stephens, and Thomas Weisel Partners LLC
and have been allotted 450,000 shares in case of excess demand.
