Shares of semiconductor memory chip makers were up Friday after analysts indicated that they saw improving conditions in key markets.
SoundView Technology analyst Scott Randall said MICRON TECHNOLOGY's inventory is low while spot prices for dynamic random access
memory chips are up. "We're entering the peak of the back-to-school build" in the PC market, which is adding to demand for Micron's chips, he
said. On Friday he reiterated his buy rating on the stock. Micron also stands to benefit from a more bullish outlook in the personal computer
market, Randall said. Gerard Klauer Mattison & Co. analyst John Geraghty also issued a positive note on Micron. (Dow Jones)
