Bless you Coby,

I was mostly kidding about all that, in my ever theatrical way. Particularly about the no purpose in life. Those wonderful things waiting around corners aren't just for young people and my life so far has never failed to provide something new and exciting at every juncture.

I am a present kinda person. I may have written this before. We tend not to take pictures, or reminisce much around our house. CW is the same way, living very much in the moment, wringing it, absorbing it and then ready to grab the next. We don't look back too often, except for occasional smiles. SOmetimes I hold too tightly to the present, because it was so wonderful, and I'm just so sure that nothing could be better, but usually something is or at least just as wonderful for that next stage.

Last night, we offered to take the boys out to dinner but CW requested Dan's special spaghetti sauce, so we ate at home. Afterward, CW lay down on the couch with his head next to me to put his eardrops in (still has an ear infection from his rafting trip), and then we just stayed there, my arm cradling and stroking his head, he unusually calm and quiet.

"It's happened too fast," he said.

"I know," I said, feeling my throat get tight and willing myself to keep looking at the TV.

"I wouldn't want to be anywhere but here tonight," he said.

"We're glad," said Dan.

"Besides, I ate too much spaghetti and I'm sick to my stomach."

Have you noticed that my life doesn't let me take things too seriously for long?
SO thank you for caring and putting up with me, but don't worry, and I love you too.
