Actually, I think people would buy the hunting games for their kids if the parents themselves are pro hunting. They buy kids plastic guns that look like the real thing except for the orange plug in the barrel, so why not hunting games? I think the problem lies more with the fact that hunting is gradually losing popularity with each successive generation. I don't have any kids but if I did I would rather buy them a deer hunting game than a plastic uzi or 44 mag pistol that looks like the real deal. But then again, I am a hunter myself and I enjoy the sport tremendously.

As for the deer hunting game that Radica has out, I'll let you know what I think of it since I just ordered one from E-Toys. I figure it should be an amusing passtime up at deer camp this year on those weekends when we come up empty handed.

FWIW, I received my Buckmaster Deer Huntin game today and am ready to give it a review. I really like the game. It's complex enough to keep even adults on their toes and even emphasizes hunter safety. For example, if another hunter appears in your scope and you shoot, you lose the game. Also, the game will not let you continue unless the trigger safety is on. You're only allowed to take the safety off when you are aiming at a deer or a bear. The only thing I don't like about the game is the screen. The game comes equipped with 4 topo maps which show both your position and the position of the deer. The problem is that the screen is hard to see unless you're in a really well lit room. It would be a lot more enjoyable if the main screen and scope fields were larger and better illuminated. Unless you have a bright light directly behind you or over head, you find yourself squinting at the screen. Then again, maybe I'm just old and losing my eyesight. Perhaps a 10 year old wouldn't have any trouble at all. It certainly won't be easy to use in my dimly lit hunting cabin this fall.
